Orene (Carlisle) Fennell Sun, Feb 2,1997
Am searching for John -?- CARLISLE, b: late 1810 in NC. Married Matilda Ophelia PERRY, b: 1819 in AL. They were married before 1836. Their first son, William (Francis
CARLISLE, WAS born in 1836 in TN. Their next children, twins, Jasper and Newton, were born in 1842, in AL. Then, Elizabeth Jane, in 1844, AL, Francis Marion, in 1846, AL, and Harley Franklin, 1850, MS. They're in Choctaw Co, MS, in 1850 (census recs). By 1860, Matilda Ophelia had died (late 1850), and John had married Nancy Jane SAFFELL. I believe John died May 2, 1874, but haven't been able to verify that. Can't find rec, or obituary. The date I have, came from the Masonic death recs, of a John CARLISLE, that had been a member of Lodge #224, in Webster Co, MS. The meetings were held in the New Hope Presbyterian Church, before they moved them to Maben, MS. John CARLISLE built this church in 1848. I'm trying to find John's parents, and/or sibling. Have no midle name or initial, so has been extremly difficult. John's son, Francis (Frank) Marion, married Mary Frances MITCHELL, then, Mary Elizabeth VAUGHAN, April 17, 1895 (my g-mother). Can ANYONE out there in "Netland" help???????? Thanks!
